Cases will be filed against 11 police officers who criticized Philippine National Police Chief Police Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde in  social media rather than bring them to the grievance committee.

On May 8, nine of the 11 police officers responded to the summons of Albayalde in order to explain their decision to air their grievances on Facebook and other social media platforms.

All of the said police-bashers will be facing charges for ‘conduct unbecoming of a police officer’ while the two officers who were absent from the meeting, will also be charged with disobedience.

The charges could lead to the dismissal of the 11 police, who were from various assignments including the Aviation Service group, Cavite, Navotas, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Leyte.

Albayalde clarified that though he was not offended by the said criticism, the said cops needed to be reprimanded for disrespecting their commander.

The PNP head further added that as members of a uniformed organization, police should follow norms, policies, rules, and regulations.

In the Facebook page ‘Buhay Lespu’, the involved policemen commented on the surprise inspections carried out by Albayalde during his time as head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

During Albayalde’s surprise visits, he reprimanded those who were caught sleeping or drinking alcohol while supposed to be on duty.
