Maynilad Water Services Inc. confirmed that they may be able to fully restore the water supply in Cavite and Las Pinas by March 7, 2am.

According to Jennfier Rufo, Corporate Communication assistant vice-president of Maynilad, they have already repaired the leak in the primary pipe along Coastal road which initally caused the water interruption in Las Pinas City and Cavite City.

However, a line valve along Kabihasnan cannot fully open due to a damaged gear box, which was pulled out at 1:30 PM.

Currently, Maynilad is manually opening the valve for water to flow along the primary line, and estimates that the valve will be fully opened by 8:00PM.

“Hindi kasi madali buksan yung valve ng walang gear box.” Rufo explained during DZRH’s Makabagong Bayanihan. “Aabutin ng ilang oras bago namin fully ma-open yung valve. Mga ala-otso ng gabi namin fully ma-open yung valve.”

Rufo added that it will take hours before the water will build up in the primary line, and for water to be restored in all affected areas.

“It will take another few hours para mag-build up yung water pressure sa pipeline.” Rufo further added. “After 8:00PM to 2:00AM tomorrow, magkakaroon na ng tubig sa lahat ng affected areas.”

The Maynilad official said that they are rationing water supply and are speaking with other suppliers in order to deploy additional water tankers to affected areas.
