The remains of the late actor Bernardo Bernardo now lies at the St. Peter Chapels, Quezon City and will be open for viewing starting tonight at 9pm.
This is according to Susan Vecina Santos, the niece of Bernardo, who also announced the passing of the actor last March 8.
While the cause of the late actor’s death has not yet been confirmed, Bernardo was previously reported to have a tumor in his pancreas, and had clinical depression and anxiety attacks.
Various celebraties also organized fundraising activites for Bernardo, who celebrated his 73rd birthday last January 23.
Among the last projects of the actor include the musical film Ang Larawan, which won the Best in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival, and in the romance-drama film The Significant Other.
The actor previously won the Best Actor in the 5th Gawad Urian Awards in 1981 for his role the film City After Dark (Manila By Night) and the Best Supporting Actor in the 39th Gawad Urian Awards last 2016.
Bernardo was also known for portraying Steve Carpio in television series Home Along Da Riles, which starred the late King of Comedy Dolphy.
Through social media, celebrities including Lea Salonga, Jim Paredes, Jed Madela, Mark Bautista, Jaya, and Assunta De Rossi have expressed their grief for the passing of Bernardo
Meanwhile, the family of Bernardo has yet to announce whether the wake of the late actor will be open to the public for his fans.
