Senator Cynthia Villar has sought the help of the Department of Foreign Affairs for the repatriation of two alleged abused Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia.
According to the letter of Senator Villar to Senator Loren Legarda, who presided the subcommittee hearing on the budget of the DFA, Mrs. Villar said that the DFA should exhaust everything to bring home the two Filipino workers who suffered maltreatment from their employers.
Villar was referring to 23 year old Pahima Alagasi Palicasi of Pikit, North Cotabato and 33 year old Mc-Cormick Rabina of Kibawe, Bukidnon. Palicasi’s employer allegedly poured boiling water over her and was even charged with slander, while Rabina claimed that she’s raped by four men and is now in critical condition.
The lady Senator insisted that the DFA should immediately act on repatriating the two for their safety.
Villar added that the said agency should strengthen its financial and legal aids on Palicasi and Rabina so that they’re receive justice after being treated badly by their employers.
