An acting Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) was named after the Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected the confirmation of Sec. Perfecto Yasay on Wednesday.
DFA Usec. Enrique Manalo will be the Acting Head of said agency.
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella confirmed that Manalo temporarily will continue the unfinished works of Yasay until the agency appoints a permanent Secretary of DFA.
Manalo is the Undersecretary for Policy of the agency.
Before assuming post at the DFA, Manalo was a Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Permanent Representative to UN in Geneva and Ambassador to Belgium.
