Monica Torres of the Philippines won the gold medal in the women’s divison duathlon event in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held on Monday, Dec. 2, at the Subic Bay Boardwalk in Zambales.
Torres ruled the event after finishing the 10-kilometer-run, 40-kilometer bike, and five-kilometer run with a time of two hours, eight minutes and 44 seconds.
Pareeya Sonsem of Thailand completed the race with a time of two hours, 11 minutes, and 18 seconds to claim the silver, while Nguyen Thi Phuong Trinh of Vietnam placed third with a time two hours, 14 minutes, and 18 seconds.
Philippines’ Joey Delos Reyes, meanwhile, settled for second place after completing the course with a time of one hour, 53 mimutes, and four seconds.
Jauhari Johan of Indonesia took the gold medal with a time of one hour, 52 minutes, and 51 seconds, while Nattawut Srinate of Thailand placed third after crossing the finish line with a one second difference from Delos Reyes.
