Thousands of runners joined this year’s MBC run

More than 3,000 individuals participated in the 2019 Manila Bay Clean Up Run, organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC), on Sunday, July 7.

The growing number of participants of the annual race, which is in its ninth year, was noticed by MBC president Ruperto Nicdao Jr, who admitted that the event is becoming popular every year.

Napansin natin na nung umpisa, mga 2,000 lang ang tumatakbo. Ngayon, umaabot na or lumagpas na ng 4,000 ang tumatakbo,” Nicdao said in an interview with DZRH.

Nicdao stressed that the race seeks to raise money for the cleaning of Manila Bay. He also added that he is glad that the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte has taken action in the rehabilitation of various areas, including the said harbor, destroyed due to garbage and pollution.

Yung ating objective nitong ating fun run is makapag-contribute tayo sa pag-linis ng Manila Bay,” Nicdao said

Natutuwa tayo na ang President natin ng Pilipinas ay binigyan ng pansin ang importansya ng pag-linis ng ating mga karagatan and in general, yung ating environment. Natutuwa tayo na katulong natin ang national environment,” he added.
