The Senate will try to avoid any confrontation between them and members of the Lower house on the issue of Senator Leila De Lima allegedly prohibiting her former driver, bodyguard Ronnie Dayan from attending the hearing.
In an interview with DZRH, Senate Ethics Committee Chairman Sen. Tito Sotto said that the Senate has no jurisdiction over Congress’ actions.
It is up to Senator De Lima to answer the show-cause order filed against her by the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, Sotto reiterated that the Senate hearing will not focus on the private relationship between De Lima and Dayan.
The hearing will focus on the discrepancies between the testimonies of Dayan and self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.
Sotto added that the relationship between De Lima and Dayan have been established already since both admitted to it in recent interviews.
