The House of Representatives interrogated Atty. Felipa Anama, Supreme Court En Banc Clerk of Court, regarding the involvement of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno in some controversial cases.
However, Atty. Anama refused to cooperate with the Lower House in the impeachment case against Sereno.
Lawmakers were persistent but Anama refused to answer the questions that will implicate the Chief Justice on the accusations of Atty. Larry Gadon.
Meanwhile, Social Amelioration & Genuine Intervention on Poverty Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta probed the loyalty of Anama to Sereno since the chief magistrate extended the term of the Supreme Court official.
“There appears to be a tendency on your part as loyalty because, you know, you have been extended under her term.” Marcoleta said. “One’s loyalty can be there, because of an extension of a beneficial term.”
However, Anama refuted Marcoleta and claimed that she is only doing her work properly.
“I beg to disagree your honor. Nagtratrabaho lang tayo ng maayos.” Anama responded. “I’m loyal to the institution. I’ve been working for the government for 44 years.”
