Filipino super grandmaster Wesley So holds on to his unbeaten record after passing through the third round of the 78th Tata Steel Masters Chess 2016 in The Netherlands.
So places second in the overall standings with a total of two points, including his win against super Grandmaster Anish Giri.
The Filipino grandmaster’s last match was against grandmaster Sergey Karjakin of Russia which ended in a draw, the second in the said tournament.
So’s next match will be against Chinese grandmaster Liren Ding in the fourth round.
Topping the on-going tournament is So’s teammate, super GM Fabiano Caruana (2787), the World’s number five, after beating GM Michael Adams (2744) of England.
The World’s number 1 Chess grandmaster Magnus Carslen of Norway is in fourth place with 1.5 points.
