Signal No. 3 raised over areas in Luzon due to Typhoon Tisoy

Several areas in Luzon were placed under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 3 on Monday as Typhoon ‘Tisoy’ maintains its strength as it threatens to make landfall over Catanduanes, Albay or Sorsogon.

According to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin, Tisoy was last seen at 275 km East of Virac, Catanduanes and is moving west at 20 kph with a maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.

Tisoy is expected to bring occasionally heavy rains over Bicol Region, Samar Provinces, and Biliran. Meanwhile intermittent heavy rains over Northern Cebu, Dinagat Islands, Siargao Island, and the rest of Eastern Visayas.

PAGASA warned that storm surge with height of one to three meters may affect several coastal areas in Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Samar.
