Senators grill labor attaché; Estrada wants labor official sacked

Senator Jinggoy Estrada questions labor attache Adam Musa in an inquiry about the sex-for-fly scheme.

Labor Official Adam Musa is on the verge of losing his job after failing to protect Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East amid Senators being enraged at Musa for not protecting his fellow Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.

In the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, Senator Jinggoy Estrada put Musa under fire after defending his driver who tried to rape Grace Sales (not her real name) and even tried to engage the Filipina to a compromise where Musa’s driver can escape his act if Sales agree to a certain amount.

Estrada also blasted the Labor Attaché for neglecting his duty as Labor Official, adding that Musa did not help or even tried to help Sales.

“I know there was misunderstanding. According to her, she was harassed by Jojo. I did not have the opportunity to talk to her,” Musa told the senators.

Musa said that he did not know that there was an harassment attempt by his driver that prompted Sales to leave Bahay Kalinga in Riyadh.

Senator Teofisto Guingona III, chairman of the Blue Ribbon committee said that Musa’s clearly confused with what he’s saying because of his shifting statements.
