Senate Majority Leader Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III will open the Senate investigation of the alleged ill-gotten wealth of Commission on Elections Chairman Andres ‘Andy’ Bautista that is deposited in a small bank.

According to Sen. Sotto, the Senate can freely investigate the issue since the impeachment complaint against Bautista was junked.

Meanwhile, Senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero, Chairman of the Committee on Banks, is willing to continue their postponed investigation of Bautista, who allegedly misdeclared his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth.

Last August 23, the Committee on Banks started their investigation on Bautista’s more than 30 savings account in the Luzon Development Bank.

Sen. Escudero stopped the hearing after the House of Representatives endorsed the impeachment complaint against Bautista.
