Senate submits resolution to probe death of Sagay 9 massacre victims

The minority senators have submitted a resolution for the investigation on the death of the nine farmer in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Based on Senate Resolution 929, the minority senators insisted that an investigation should be launched on the death of the nine victims, including two minors and five females; in order to put an end to on the failure of the agrarian reform program.

On Oct. 20, nine members of the national Federation of Sugarcane workers were killed in Hacienda Nene in Brgy. Bulanon, Sagay City.

In line with this, the senators from the opposition also condemn the death of Human Rights lawyer, Atty. Benjamin Ramos, founder of the Naitonal Union of People’s lawyer.

Ramos was the lawyer representing the Sagada 9.
