The Senate decided to postpone its planned investigation on the Bank of the Philippine Islands’ glitch that caused major panic to its customers.

According to Senator Francis Escudero, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banks, Financial Institutions and Currencies, they will have to wait for the result of the investigation of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on the alleged technical glitch which affected accounts of most BPI clients.

The senator added that thought the truth and transparency need not be sacrificed, they also need to be very careful with their probe, especially when BPI is the third largest banking company in the Philippines.

Senate President Koko Pimentel on Tuesday filed Resolution 403 assigning Escudero’s committee to create an inquiry on the internal data processing error of the said bank.
