Senator Vicente ‘Toto’ Sotto III is willing to withdraw his resolution to investigate Commission on Elections Chairman Andres ‘Andy’ Bautista.
According to Sen. Sotto, he will make the decision once an impeachment complaint is filed against Chair Bautista.
Sen. Sotto explained that the resolution he filed is only limited to the issue that Chair Bautista misdeclared his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth.
Based on the expose of Patricia Paz Bautista, wife of Chair Bautista, the COMELEC head has Php 1 billion worth of hidden wealth, including multiple bank deposits and undisclosed real properties.
Mrs. Bautista also accused Chair Bautista of receiving commission from Smartmatic, the company handling the automatic elections of the Philippines.
“Kaya nga sabi ko kapag meron impeachment, hindi na kami tutuloy.” Sen. Sotto said during an exclusive interview with DZRH. “Masasagasaan yung isyu. Ang isyu natin dito ay yung isyu ng SAL-N at anti-money laundering. Pero ganoon talaga, kung ayaw may dahilan.”
