Senator Panfilo Lacson is asking members of the House of Representatives to refrain from presenting a possible “no-election” scenario since President Rodrigo Duterte has already declared that he is against in extending his term in Malacanang.
According to Lacson, only representatives allied to the President are forcing for the shift to Federalism to extend their terms.
The senator believes that it is already clear that Duterte does not wish to extend his term, unlike some lawmakers who want to postpone the 2019 national elections.
Lacson also told his fellow solons to show delicadeza and not to use shameless activities in order to remain in their government offices.
The lawmaker also clarified that he does not oppose charter change, but hopes that only economic provisions will be amended.
