Sen. Panfilo Lacson believes that the Senate will only be wasting their time in discussing the Death Penalty bill.
Lacson advised Sen. Manny Pacquiao to not rush the hearings for the Death Penalty Bill since most of the senators are against death penalty.
According to Lacson, Pacquiao should survey the position of every senator regarding the proposal to bring back capital punishment in the Philippines.
Paquiao was appointed as chairman of the sub-committee that will discuss the Death Penalty Bill.
Pacquiao was tasked to lead the hearings so that the Death Penalty Bill can be discussed fairly, since Sen. Richard Gordon, chairman of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, is among the lawmaker against the said legislation.
Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III previously announced that the will resume the hearing on the Death Penalty bill this January.
