Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has once again ordered the arrest of former Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur mayor Omar Solitario Ali, his son and vice-mayor Arafat Salic, and another personality allegedly connected to the Maute terror group.

Sec. Lorenzana, as Martial Law Administrator, previously gave clearance to remove the names of Ali and Salic from the Arrest, Search, and Seizure Orders Numbers 1 and 2.

The clearance was released in order to allow the two Marawi City officials to meet with Sec. Lorenzana and without getting halted by checkpoints.

However, Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza said that Lorenzana already withdrew the week-long clearance issued to Ali and Salic.

Dureza insisted that the two were back on the arrest list of the Martial Law because of the accusations against them have basis.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, and local leaders in Lanao Del Sur were also against the clearance given to the two Marawi officials.

Php 25 million worth of methamphetamine, also known as shabu, was seized in the house of the Salic family, who were allegedly involved in the Maute attack in Marawi.
