Well-known hairdresser and Philanthropist Ricky Reyes was charged of illegal termination of one of his employees who tested positive of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
Rene Nocos, 48, accused Reyes of discrimination after he was terminated from work in one of Reyes’ parlors after being diagnosed positive of HIV.
Reyes is also being accused of not paying Nocos’ his social protection benefits in SSS and Philhealth premiums.
According to Nocos, Reyes used to be a fair employer, even providing him his wix-month salary when he went on leave after suffering Tuberculosis.
However, things have changed eversince Reyes found out that he’s HIV positive.
The Ricky Reyes Corporation denies the accusation of Nocos. Also known as Bambi, according to the management, they only advised Bambi to take a rest to recover from his sickness before going back to work. Apparently, the branch that he’s assigned to, has been closed.
The corporation admits that they refused Bambi’s request to be fully paid amid being on leave.
