Reward money for any information that can lead to the arrest of the murderers behind the gruesome death of Christine Lee Silawan has now increased to at least Php 2-Million.
According to reports, the bounty raised after Presidential Assistant to the Visayas Michael Dino announced that he will add Php 100,000 to the cash reward for anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects. He also revealed that Philpost Chairman Norman Fulgencio also vowed to extend an additional of Php 100,000.
Dino said that the cash will be coming from their own pockets.
It can be recalled that on Tuesday, the Police Regional Advisory Council-Central Visayas offered a Php 100,000 reward while an American retiree based in Leyte also offered a Php 500,000 reward to urge those who may have witnessed Silawan’s murder to come forward and tell the police about what they know.
On Wednesday, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza is reportedly offering a Php 1-million reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of the killers of the teenage student.
According to reports from a local media in Cebu, police said the reward for those who can provide leads for the resolve of the crime was raised after a former soldier from Eastern Visayas reportedly expressed willingness to donate Php 500,000.
Meanwhile, Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale also sponsored at least Php 200,000 from the Cebu Provincial Government. She told reporters she will sponsor a resolution charging Php 200,000 against the budget of the Provincial Council for the Welfare and Children (PCWC) on the next Provincial Board regular session.
