The real face of public service

OPERATION
DZRH

The Manila Broadcasting Network with its flagship station DZRH, the widest-network coverage of all AM stations in the Philippines, continues with its legacy which is providing public service to the people.

Ever since typhoon Yolanda has struck the Visayas region, DZRH, through its Operation Tulong, knew how much help the victims need, and such, a day after the tragedy struck, the premier AM station already sent forces to conduct preliminary feeding program and to assess what else is needed by the victims who lost everything.

Though we also experienced tragedy as two of our colleagues died while on duty and our regional station’s been wiped out by the storm surge, it was still with utmost importance that help should be given to those who needed it badly.

Volunteers helped in repacking relief goods

Donations started pouring in and on Friday night, some MBC employees, volunteers and members of DZRH Operation Tulong repackaged all the donations that our generous donors entrusted to us.

Since there was also cash donations, the management decided to use the money to buy more of the canned goods, toiletries, rice, and drinking water.

We assure you that everything that was handed to us by those kind-hearted individuals will not be put in vain as we already plan on flying these packed relief goods soon and will personally deliver them to the victims in the Visayas region.

We would like to express our gratitude to those who trusted us with their donations and to those who are interested in donating, whether it’ll be in cash or in kind, you can drop it at MBC/DZRH building, V. Sotto St., CCP Complex, Roxas Blvd. or deposit it through MBC DZRH Operation Tulong Metrobank Account # 640-7-640029907.

Meanwhile, congratulations to DZRH for bagging two awards in the recently concluded 35th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) 2013.

The program “Katumbas ay Biyaya” of the National Nutrition Council together with Rey Sibayan took home the CMMA Best Public Service Program.

Katumbas ay Biyaya is under the direction of Badong Royales and was fortunate to snatch the award from programs coming from the two network giants of the Philippines.

Also, Radyo Balintataw with Cecille Guidote-Alvarez received the CMMA Best Radio Drama Program awards.

The show was up against with two other DZRH programs, “Heart to Heart” and “Pagsarmingan”.
