The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) on Friday, March 15, announced the opening of its Nutrition Hall for national athletes at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila
PSC said that the Nutrition Hall is expected to initially serve around 500 athletes.
There were a lot of challenges along the way but this is a promise that PSC Chairman William Ramirez made and made sure to keep,” said Sr. Executive Assistant and concurrent National Training Director of the Philippine Sports Institute Marc Velasco.
The PSC Nutrition Unit conducted biometrics registration and nutrition assessment for athletes and coaches in the national pool. They will be scheduled a specific diet based on their requirements as assessed by the nutritionists.
“This is good for the players specially after the training. Susunod lang kami kung anong makakabuti” said Philippine Pencak Silat Association coach Chris Yabut who commended the development.
Next week, another Nutrition Hall will start its operations at the Philippine Institute of Sports Complex Pasig City for national team members training in the said facility.
