Prez Duterte willing to withdraw Martial Law on recommendation of AFP

President Rodrigo Duterte once again defended his declaration of Martial Law all over Mindanao.

Duterte explained that Martial Law is need to prevent terrorist groups from spreading violence in other areas.

The President also reiterated his willingness to implement Martial Law in the Visayas in case the terrorism of the Maute terror group reaches the area.

Duterte insists that he will not withdraw the Martial Law declaration without the recommendation of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Sometimes the question of, not really grief, but the burden is really very heavy.” Duterte sharing his grief for the declared Martial Law.  “I have to be informed of what’s happening. Iyan ang gusto kong sabihin sa inyo kasi ang pinaka-nasasaktan, ako. Ako ang nag-utos ng away na ito.”

Pres. Duterte said that, if the AFP declares that Marawi City is already clear, and safe for civilians, he will retract his Martial Law declaration.

The President said that he is waiting for the statement of the AFP regarding the situation in the city.

The President also prays that the conflict in Marawi will come to an end, in order for the residents to return to their normal lives.

“I pray to God that this fight will be short.” Duterte said. “Makikita naman natin if it’s already safe for everybody. We do not have to worry about killings of innocent people. Then maybe I will ask them, and I merely would say ‘If it’s time to leave?’, but until then Martial Law will remain.”
