President Rodrigo Duterte finally breaks his silence in relation to the resignation of National Irrigation administration (NIA) Chief Peter Lavina.
The President confirmed that he advised Lavina to resign contrary to reports that he voluntarily quit from his position.
Pres. Duterte admitted that his decision also hurts him since Lavina has been his friend and colleague for a long time, and been a spokesperson during his campaign in 2016.
But the President stressed that he does not tolerate any corruption in his administration, though it’s just a disgrace since he wants officials who have not been involved in corruption.
It was this week when reports exploded regarding the sudden resignation of Lavina from NIA.
