President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday revealed that he fired another set of government officials, aside from recently axed National Food Authority Council Chairman Jun Evasco.
Malacanang refused to comment on the President’s statement but insisted that it was disheartening to know the officials who just got dismissed by President Duterte.
President Duterte gave a few hints on who could be these government officials. He said that they used to visit him often in Davao City to convince him to run for the 2016 national elections.
It remains a mystery on who could be the said officials.
Meanwhile, during the NFA meeting in Malacanang on Monday, the President returned the NFA together with the Philippine Coconut Authority and the National Irrigation Administration under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture, following the departure of Evasco.
Evasco said that he respects the decision of the president and is thankful for the opportunity given to him to head the NFA council for almost two years.
Prior to being axed, Evasco revealed that NFA rice is being distributed to some traders in Bulacan even though it was supposed to be allocated for Eastern Visayas, a region often hit by typhoons.
Evasco even asked NFA administrator Jason Aquino why he’d approved the said transaction when there was no approval from the NFA council.
