On Wednesday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte named Court of Appeals Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando as his seventh appointee in the Supreme Court.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed the appointment of Hernando to the high tribunal in a text message to reporters.
Hernando is set to fill up the vacated seat of former Associate Justice Samuel Martires, whom Duterte appointed on July 26 as the head of the Office of Ombudsman. Just like the President, he is also a graduate of the San Beda College of Law. He also took eight units toward a master’s degree in Business Administration at the Ateneo de Manila University, Graduate School of Business.
He was appointed a member of the Court of Appeals on February 16, 2010.
