President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed outrage on the gruesome murder of 16-year-old Christine Lee Silawan in Cebu who was skinned to the skull and her internal organs still missing.
During his speech in the campaign sortie of the ruling PDP-Laban in Isabela, Duterte cursed the murderers of the said case.
“Kahapon may pinatay ang mga p****g i***g iyan binalatan ang mukha,” the chief executive said.
Duterte then proceeded on recalling the controversial rape case involving former actress Maggie dela Riva, whose life story became the subject of a 1994 movie by director Carlo J. Caparas.
“Sa aming panahon may nire-rape, that’s a crime that goes with humanity, biology ‘yan eh. Pero yung magaganda, I would like to say sorry to Maggie dela Riva, ‘yung rape noon at binabantayan pa namin. Maggie dela Riva, she was really beautiful. How could she have endured such brutality,” Duterte said.
On Monday, the body of a 17-year-old girl was found with the skin peeled off from her face in a barangay in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Police authorities, later on, identified the victim as Christine Lee Silawan, who was found with no undergarments and her face skinned to the bone. The body was found early morning in a vacant lot in Barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu.
However, on Wednesday, medico-legal officer doctor Benjamin Lara disclosed that the victim’s esophagus, tongue, and trachea were discovered missing after he conducted an autopsy on the victim’s body.
With this, the reward money for the arrest of the suspects has now been raised to Php 1.8-Million.
