President Rodrigo Duterte is alarmed over the series of priests getting killed in the country.
According to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, this is the reason why the president would want a radical change in the country, so that law and order will be properly implemented.
Roque said that Police Chief Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde will personally head the investigation on the series of killings of Fr. Mark Ventura, Fr. Tito Paez and Fr. Richmond Nilo.
However, Roque remained mum on providing anymore details on the cases of the three slain priests.
Meanwhile, some priests are not in favor of arming them as part of their protection.
In an exclusive interview over at DZRH’s One on One, Fr. Ramon ‘Bong’ Turingan, director of Studies of the Sto. Domingo Formation House of the diocese of Batanes said that they are saddened and afraid, especially after Fr. Nilo was killed in Nueva Ecija.
But the priest believes that violence is never the solution in ending these series of killings, because what God has taught us is that we should love one another, even those who are doing us harm.
