President Rodrigo Duterte blamed Commission on Human Rights chairman Chito Gascon for the Php1,000 2018 budget given to them by the House of Representatives.
During his late night press briefing at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, President Duterte insisted that the lower house made a massive cut on the CHR’s proposed Php678 million 2018 budget because Gascon is “pro-dilaw” and utters inappropriate statements.
The president added that Gascon doesn’t know how to be a CHR head.
Duterte said that this is the reason why the lawmakers were irked with Gascon, but if it were up to him, he has no personal vendetta on the CHR head.
Duterte even called Gascon “tanga” to meddle with police investigations and come up with his own conclusions.
The President was in Libingan ng mga Bayani to visit the wake of Army Capt. Rommel Sandoval and Private First Class Sherwin Canapi. Both died while saving their comrades in the 11th Scout ranger company amid the on-going war in Marawi City.
