President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday revealed that at least 9,000 policemen in the country are either using or operating illegal drugs.
The President made the statement during the 116th Balangiga Encounter Day in Balangiga, Eastern Samar.
“There are about 9,000 policemen all over the country into drugs. Hindi ganu’n kadali ang problema” he said.
The President also maintained his stance against the “bamboo triad” based in Taiwan, which is allegedly involved in the rampant entry of illegal drugs in the country. The President also voiced his anger towards the gangsters in the Philippines who continue to scatter illicit drugs.
Some 3,800 suspected drug pushers and users have died in police operation starting the President’s declaration of an all-out war against illegal drugs and criminality.
