Makati City Police Chief Sr. Supt. Dionesio Bartolome confirmed that no ambush incident was reported early Friday morning, contrary to what Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre claims that allegedly, Lalaine Madrigal Martinez, the wife of drug convict Noel Martinez, was ambushed.
According to Aguirre, Lalaine is the alleged link who tried to convince some high-profile inmates who previously testified against Senator Leila De Lima, to retract their testimonies at the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee in connection with the Php100 million bribe.
Aguirre revealed that former Senator Jamby Madrigal and incumbent Rep. Marlyn Alonte continue to offer bribe money to those who testified against De Lima.
Prior to this, the DOJ Secretary claimed that a wife of a high-profile inmate was ambushed in Makati early Friday morning.
Martinez is currently detained in Camp Aguinaldo, and is considered as part of the “Bilibid 19” of the New Bilibid Prison.
