National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Major General Guillermo Eleazar has been appointed as the new Chief of the Directorial Staff of the Philippine National Police (PNP) , as per PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde.
Eleazar’s new post is the fourth of the highest position in the PNP.
The major reshuffle of the police key posts was triggered by the retirement of PNP Deputy Chief for Administration, Lt. Gen. Fernando Mendez on Friday, October 11. He will be replaced by Police Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, who is currently the deputy for operations.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan will replace Gamboa as PNP Deputy Chief for Operations.
According to reports, Gamboa, Cascolan, and Eleazar are considered as front runners to replace Albayalde as PNP Chief who is set to retire from his post on November 8.
On the other hand, Central Visayas Regional Director BGen. Debold Sinas will replace Eleazar as head of the NCRPO.
The PNP has yet to decide on a new regional director for Region 7, replacing Sinas.
