Malacanang opted to shrugged off former Senator Joker Arroyo’s claim when he called President Benigno Aquino III an “evil genius” when he implemented the Disbursement Acceleration Program.
According to Presidential Spokesman Secretary Edwin Lacierda, the President refuses to dignify the former Senator’s tirade against him.
Lacierda added that the Palace respects the opinion of Arroyo but they will not dignify his comments on the President’s implementation of Executive Order 292 that gives continuing authority on the Executive Department to re-organize the Executive branch.
“With all due respect to sen. Arroyo, we dont want to dignify the comments from sen. Arroyo.”
Instead of replying, the Palace insisted that Arroyo, as then the Executive Secretary of the late President Corazon Aquino, should answer why he signed EO 292 on July 25, 1987.
This was contrary to Arroyo’s claim that it was former President Marcos who signed the said revised Administrative Order.
