PHL Marines holds ‘arrival honors, mass’ to 8 fallen soldiers

Eight of the 13 members of Philippine Marines (PM) killed in a clash in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur were given ‘Arrival Honors’ on June 12, 2017.

Along with the celebration of 119th anniversary of Philippine Independence, the remains of soldiers killed in Marawi Siege arrived at the Headquarters of Philippine Marines in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Among the fallen heroes are;

1Lt. Frederick Savellano, who led the troops who discovered the more than Php70 million cash and banknotes in Maute Group den.

1Lt. Raymond Abad

– SSgt. Joven Triston

– Sgt. Simeon Plares

– Cpl Rolan Sumagpang

– PFC Gener Tinangag

– PFC Marvin Russel Gomez

– Pvt Bernie Jhon Lunas

 

Vice-president Leni Robredo attended the arrival honors for the mentioned heroes.

Mass was also offered for the fallen soldiers while their bereaved families received the ‘Military merit Medal.’
