The Philippine National Railways will increase their fare starting next month.
Based on the advisory released by PNR General Manager June Magno, the fare increase is based on the resolution approved last 2014.
Magno explained that they are only implementing the fare that had long been approved but its implementation was delayed.
Due to this, the Php 10 fare of the PNR for the first 14 kilometers will be Php 15, and additional Php 5 for every 7 kilometer per zone travelled.
Due this, the maximum fare rate of Php 45 for the Tutuban – Calamba trip will be Php 60.
According to Magno, the fare increase will be used for repairing trains, rails, and train stations.
