The Philippine National Women’s Football team, also known as the Philippine Malditas, failed to place fifth in the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Jordan after falling to South Korea, 5-0.

Due to this, the dreams of the Malditas to qualify in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup came to end as only the Top 5 of the Asian Cup will move to the World Cup.

Lim Seon-Joo widened the South Koreans’ lead to three goals in the 56th minute, while Cho So-Hyun gave the final points thru a goal in the 66th minute and a penalty kick in the 84th minute.

This game also resulted for the Philippine team to finish their campaign in the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup with one win, zero draws, and three losses.

Meanwhile, South Korea will be joining Australia, Thailand, China, and Japan in representing Asia for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
