The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized one kilogram of crystallized methamphetamine, popularly known as shabu, estimated to be worth Php 5 million, during a raid in a condominium unit in Muntinlupa City.
While, authorities did not catch anyone during the raid at Unit 323, Rhapsody Residences, Marimba Bldg., Brgy. Buli, East Service Road, Muntinlupa, passports belonging to Anquian Yang, alias Li Hong Peng, and his wife Aina Sale Laquire were recovered.
Yan and Laquire are suspected to be behind a large syndicate that drops illegal drugs in Metro Manila and the Bicol Region.
According to Supt. Enrico Rigor of the Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Group, Anquian could have already left the Philippines, while Laquire remained to continue their group’s operations.
The raid was a follow-up operation of the two buy-bust operations last March 23 in Alabang and Makati, wherein four suspects, composed of one Chinese national and four Filipinos, were apprehended.
Yang was already arrested in 2012 during a buy-bust operation in San Juan City, and last 2017 in Paranaque City but, in both instances, he was released after being allowed to post bail by the courts.
