Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, with an estimated street value of P375,000 during an entrapment operation in General Santos City.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug which weighed 50 grams was seized from Daureen Ampatuan, 34 years old, a resident of Bentaib Compound, Crossing Sinawal, Barangay Apopong, General Santos City.
On November 2, 2015 at around 8:20 in the evening, agents of PDEA Regional Office 12 (PDEA RO12) under the direct supervision of Director Lyndon Aspacio conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of Ampatuan after he sold one plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in Romana Estate 1, Dacera Farm, Barangay Heights, General Santos City. Ampatuan yielded 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P375,000 and one Honda XRM motorcycle.
Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being filed in court against Ampatuan who is temporarily detained at PDEA RO12 Jail Facility.
