The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) on Friday, Dec. 29, officially approved the trade deals between the NLEX Road Warriors, Blackwater Elite, and the Talk N’ Text Katropa.
The three-way trade saw the transfer of rookies Paul Desiderio and Abu Tratter, along with Michael Miranda from the Road Warriors to the Elite.
Elite gave away JP Erram and Philip Paredes, who they acquired from the Katropa, to the Road Warriors for the rights to Desiderio, Tratter, and Miranda
Meanwhile, Katropa released Paredes in exchange for the 2022 2nd round draft pick that Elite received from the San Miguel Beermen during an earlier trade.
Katropa also relinquished their rights to Alfrancis Tamsi and their 2022 2nd round draft pick in order to acquire Miranda from the Elite.
On Thursday, Dec. 28, Desiderio, the no. 4 overall pick, and Tratter, the no. 7 overall pick, during the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft have already signed three-year contracts with the Elite even though the PBA has yet to announce that the trade has been approved.
After the PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Robinsons Place Manila, the Road Warriors confirmed that they plan to trade Desiderio and Tratter, their first round picks, in exchange for Erram from the Elite.
However, per reports, the PBA trade committee instructed the Road Warriors and the Elite to revise the trade deal, which allowed the inclusion of the Katropa.
