PAGASA warns Luzon areas for moderate to heavy rains

The weather state bureau PAGASA on Monday morning reported that the areas of Luzon will still be under the influence of the Tropical Storm Yagi given its effect on the southwest monsoon which can still be experienced throughout the day.

TS Yagi or formerly Tropical Storm “Karding” was last seen 960 kilometers north of extreme northern Luzon, and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has a 75 kilometers per hour sustained winds which could gust up to 120 kph and is moving northwest at 35 kph.

PAGASA has raised a Yellow Warning on the areas of Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal, Zambales and Bataan on its 9:00 AM forecast.

With Yagi enhancing the monsoon, moderate to occasionally heavy rain could be expected over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, the Calabarzon Region, and the Mindoro provinces; with scattered rain and thunderstorms predicted for the rest of Luzon. Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao could expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers.

PAGASA also reported that another tropical storm, Leepi, is outside the PAR, 1,965 km east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon. It has 80 kph sustained winds which gusted 95 kph and is moving northwest at 20 kph.
