The NLEX Road Warriors are expected to miss the services of their 26-year old point guard Kevin Alas for about eight months due to an injury in his right knee.
According to reports, MRI scans confirmed that Alas suffered a complete ACL tear in his right knee during Game Five of the Best-of-Seven seminfinals series of the PBA Philippine Cup between NLEX and Magnolia Hotshots.
Due to the said injury, Alas was removed from the court with less than a minute in the start of the game last March 18.
The Road Warriors lost the game, 87-78, and now needs to win Game-6 on March 20 in order to remain alive in the race to win their first PBA championship.
Meanwhile, NLEX Yeng Guiao blames the injury of Alas on Hotshots guard Paul Lee, who allegedly pushed the Road Warriors star.
Guiao is also upset that no foul was called on Lee, especially since it cost NLEX their key player, which contributed to their defeat in Game-5.
