The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council alerted residents regarding the chance that Tropical Depression Basyang will make a third landfall in their island tonight.
According to NDRRMC Spokesperson Romina Marasigan, Basyang will make a possible landfall in Brooke’s Point, Palawan if the tropical depression will not change its route.
Previously, Basyang made landfall in Cortez, Surigao Del Sur, in the morning of February 13 and in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on the evening of the same day.
Marasigan reiterated its warning that Basyang could possibly cause landslides in the province.
The onslaught of Basyang has already recorded four deaths, and injured six due to the landslides in Carrascal, Surigao Del Sur, and Albuera, Leyte.
As of 1:00PM, The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration located the center of Basyang at 165 kilmeters of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
