The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council once again issued an advisory reminding the public to be extra careful on the road while travelling back to their provinces this coming Holy Week.
The Office of the Civil Defense have set guidelines and is coordinating with all agencies concerned, including the NDRRMC to create a quick and fast action plan with the problem that could arise on the road for people traveling starting today.
They have launched Oplan Ligtas Kuwaresma 2014.
According to NDRRMC Executive Director Eduardo Del Rosario, their group will not only focus on people travelling on the road but also people who will be boarding ships and airplanes.
Meanwhile, Col. Bob Bacarro of the AFP Operations, the Armed Forces of the Philippines has prepared groups to support the Philippine National Police, which is on heightened alert status starting today.
Aside from military forces, a helicopter in Camp Aguinaldo is also on standby that can be used in emergency situation.
They will add additional members to oversee in inspections at bus terminals.
