Presidential Daughter and Davao city mayor Sara Duterte defended Public Attorney’s Office Chief atty. Persida Rueda – Acosta and told Sen. Risa Hontiveros to resign instead.
Duterte made this call in response to the statement of Hontiveros telling Public Attorney’s Office Chief atty. Persida Rueda – Acosta to resign for causing the public to mistrust the government’s vaccination program that led to a measles outbreak.
“Ikaw dapat magresign dahil wala ka ng sinabi na tama. Lahat sablay. PAO Chief Acosta is doing her job in assisting indigent litigants who want to sue,” Duterte said in her Instagram account on Monday, Feb. 11.
The mayor stressed that because of the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia controversy, this caused parents to lose their confidence in vaccines. She added that the substance killed people but the senator did not react on the human rights of the victims.
“You can easily verify this if you talk to the people in barangays instead of putting your head inside your behind all the time. Do not wag the dog. Devangxia killed innocent individuals, bakit wala ka human rights angle dito?” Duterte added.
Duterte also questioned whether the resignation of Acosta will solve the measles outbreak, and advised Hontiveros to think before speaking so that she will not be lambasted.
“Mag isip po tayo ng solution, hindi opposition para lng may masabi. Kapag gusto natin magsalita pagisipan muna para hindi nakakahiya,” Duterte said.
