The first Filipino Jr. F1 driver, Marlon Stockinger will represent the Philippines in the 2015 Status Grand Prix.

Stockinger will soon be seen competing in Austria for the said grand prix.

26 drivers will be representing 13 teams and will be racing for over 10 rounds.

GP2 has already completed three rounds, which started in April in Bahrain.

24 year old Stockinger is participating with New Zealand’s 23 years old driver Richie Stanaway.

According to Stockinger’s mother Egin, her son’s been adjustice well in the GP2 series amid being considered as a rookie still.

“It’s very challenging because the car he now uses is heavier, and this series is different from where he used to race.  But overall as a rookie driver in a series of GP2, he is doing very well.”

Egin added that she constantly talks to her son and based from the recent conversation, Marlon is confident and hopeful that he will earn points in this series.

Meanwhile, Marlon will be back this week in the country, just in time for Slipstream 2.0, happening on the 27th  of June, with Globe Telecom as his main corporate sponsor.

Slipstream 2.0 is a one-day event for the public, particularly motoring aficionados, where Stockinger is set to drive his Lotus World Series racecar around the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The event will be a sequel to last year’s exhibition of fast cars and fancy vehicles which attracted thousands of enthusiasts and their families who saw history in the making by witnessing a World Series car burn rubber on the streets of Manila.
