Filipino Boxing Sen. Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he will be facing American fighter Adrien Broner in his next bout.
Pacquiao made this announcement during an event at Makati Shangri-la Hotel on Wednesday, October 18, in which he was introduced as the newest ambassador of the International Sports Promotion Society, also known as ISPS Handa.
The Pambansang Kamao said that he will start training next week for his fight against Broner that could happen either on January 12 or 19 in the United States of America.
Pacquiao’s last fight was when he seized the WBA regular welterweight title from Argentine boxer Lucas Matthysse via a knock-out during their July 15 fight in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
While, Broner, whose last victory happened in 2017, will be coming off from an April 21 match with Mexican boxer Jessie Vargas in USA that ended in a draw.
Meanwhile in regards to his awaited rematch with American Floyd Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao said that he will discuss once again facing the undefeated boxer after his bout with Broner.
The Filipino fighter also said that Mayweather, who has welcomed the challenge of undefeated Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, will have a match this December.
Public interest regarding another Pacquiao – Mayweather fight got rejuvenated after both fighters posted a video in their respective social media accounts of their meeting during an event in Tokyo, Japan.
During their first meeting in the ring, Mayweather defeated Pacquiao thru unanimous decision in a fight that happened in Nevada, USA last May 2015.
However, the results of the match got questioned after Pacquiao revealed that he injured his right shoulder while training before the fight.
