The Westports Malaysia Dragons ended the eight-game winning streak of Alab Pilipinas in the 2018 ASEAN Basketball League after their 90-89 victory.

During the game in MABA Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, import Renaldo Balkman contributed 33 points and 19 rebounds for the Philippine team which holds 11 wins and 5 losses

While on the side of the home team, import Chris Eversley scored 36 points for the Dragons who grabbed their fifth victory after 15 games in the tournament.

Both teams were tied at 29-all in last 27 seconds of the fourth quarter and a foul on Justin Brownlee almost gave Alab the lead but the 6’7 import missed both of his two free throw shots.

A succesful free-throw by Fil-Am Joshua Munzon in the final 13 seconds of the game gave the Malaysian team a single point lead.

Dondon Hontiveros had the chance to give victory to the Philippine team but his three-point shot failed allowing Malaysia’s Yi Hou Wong to secure the defensive rebound and the victory for the home team.
