President Rodrigo Duterte aims to axe another high ranking official, reports Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
According to Roque, the President is bent on dismissing another top-ranking official on the entrance of 2018 but advised that it would be better to postpone the announcement until January 3.
Roque also refused to name the government official that Duterte is eying to discharge from duty.
According to the Spokesman, he will be announcing the name of the official to be dismissed due to corruption allegation on Wednesday at a media briefing in Malacañang.
Roque also declined to confirm if the official would be coming from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) after it has been tagged in several questionable practices such as its supposed grandiose Christmas party celebration.
Last year, Duterte dismissed several government officials after they were linked to corruption allegations. Some of the officials dismissed includes Presidential Commission on the Urban Poor (PCUP) Chairman Terry Ridon, Energy Regulatory Commission Jose Vicente Salazar, and more.
