Malacanang is making true to its promise that public school teachers will have an increase in their salaries.
During a press briefing in Malacanang, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte ordered all concerned agencies to study how the salary of teachers can be increased.
Roque made this statement after Budget Sec. Ben Diokno opposed the proposal since it is not a priority of the Department of Budget and Management, and at least Php 500 billion is needed to increase the pay of teachers.
Roque explained that Diokno is already aware of what to do and insisted that it is the President of the Philippines who wished to increase the salary of teachers.
Roque added that while it may take time, public school teachers will receive their increase before the term of Duterte ends.
